Virtual Tour around Russian Hanseatic Cities

The Virtual Tour includes 382 3D photo panoramas in 13 Hanseatic cities and towns of Russia - Belozersk, Velikiy Novgorod, Velikiy Ustyug, Vologda, Ivangorod, Kaliningrad, Kingisepp, Pskov, Smolensk, Tver', Tikhvin, Torzhok and Tot'ma. They are all part to the Hansa League of the New Times, representing Russia in this large Pan-European network of intercity cultural cooperation.

The Hanseatic status is a valuable acknowledgement of historical achievements of the city, and is granted for the contribution into the development of European trade and diplomatic relations in Middle Ages.

The goal of the Virtual Tour is to show the rich historical and cultural potential of the Russian Hanseatic cities, their individuality and their sights, as well as to help preserve and promote the Russian cultural heritage.

Strolling through the virtual scenes of the Tour, you can visit the actual fortresses, temples and monasteries, walk up and down modern streets and stop by sightseeing platforms.

The work on the creation of this Virtual Tour became possible with the grants allocated by the Institute of Civil Society Problematics (Moscow) upon the RF Presidential ruling 300-RP "On provision in 2010 of state support to nonprofit non-governmental organizations engaged in civil society development", and by the European Union via the Institution Building Partnership Programme (IBPP): Support to EU-Russia Cultural Cooperation Initiatives.
The originator of the Virtual Tour development is Non-Governmental Organization "Lake Peipsi Project, Pskov" (Russia), and the developer is CrioNova Ltd. (Estonia).
